Driver missing, passenger seriously injured in Pownal crash
Vermont State Police are investigating after a serious crash in the town of Pownal Tuesday morning. It happened shortly before 6 a.m. in the area of 824 Burrington Rd.
Vermont State Police Troopers are asking for the public's help after an early morning crash led to major injuries for a passenger, with the driver still missing.
The man who was shot is Jaime Gomez, 18, who lived in a room at the inn. He is continuing to receive treatment for his injuries Friday, Jan. 2, 2025, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. The member of the Ludlow Police Department who shot Gomez is Chief Jeffrey Warfle.

The wounded 18-year-old man was reported to be hospitalized in stable condition and also facing assault-related charges.

Pittsfield woman faces DUI charge in Vermont
Vermont State Police stated that at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, troopers observed a motor vehicle violation on U.S. Route 7 in Bennington and conducted a traffic stop. Police spoke with the driver, identified as 29-year-old Anna Sarabia of Pittsfield, Mass., and noticed multiple signs of impairment.
